About

Welcome! We all seek a life filled with joy alongside our furry companions. I, Maddy Collingwood, embarked on the journey of dog training and walking to make this dream a reality.

Certified by the esteemed Karen Pryor Academy in October 2020, my passion for dogs began long before. Starting at 12, I volunteered at the Coquitlam Animal Shelter and later the SPCA, gaining invaluable experience in rescue care and adoption.

With 11 years as a Veterinary Office Assistant/Technician, I honed skills in behaviour, stress reduction, and recognizing health indicators linked to behaviour.

In February 2019, my journey intensified with Pixel, our rescued pup. With Pixel’s arrival, we were greeted not only by her endearing upturned ears but also a host of behavioral challenges. As a street dog, her behavioural repertoire was a blank canvas, and each day seemed to unveil a new fear or obstacle. What should have been a leisurely stroll became a battleground of anxieties, leaving neither of us enjoying the experience. Seeking help, I delved into positive reinforcement training, witnessing remarkable progress and forging a bond built on trust and joy.

My mission is clear: to support owners facing similar challenges, transforming walks from stressors to cherished moments of connection. Let’s embark on this journey together. Reach out at staypawsitiveservices@gmail.com to begin!
